The station is located at an altitude of 1100-1110 m above sea level. It is an oak grove of sessile oak (Quercus petraea) with some beech (Fagus sylvatica), hazel (Corilus avellana) and ash trees (Fraxinus angustifolia). The UTM grid of 1 km² where the boxes are located is characterised by its high forest cover (80%), with deciduous forests dominating (73.3%) as opposed to sclerophyll forests (6.6%). The average annual rainfall is 1023 mm.
