The station is located at an altitude of 1546 m above sea level. The nest boxes are placed on a cattle track bordered by hazelnut trees (Corylus avellana), where there is an area with birch trees (Betula pendula) and some cherry trees (Prunus sp). Nearby there is predominantly red pine (Pinus sylvestris) forest. The nest boxes are in the Son area, between the "Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes" i Sant Maurici and el "Parc Natural de l'Alt Pirineu".
